To celebrate the founding meeting of the Guardians of the Pacuare, a “dream team” of volunteers planted 360 trees on May 27, 2023, to restore the rainforest and biological corridor in the Pacuare River Basin.
When I say “dream team,” I mean it! In only one hour – yes, you read that right, ONE HOUR – 40 volunteers planted 360 trees!! We have a new record!
We give a hearty thanks to our expert volunteers from the SubCorredor Biológico Barbilla-Destierro Paso del Jaguar, JACANA youth organization, Pacuare Lodge Costa Rica, Pacuare Outdoor Center, Finca Tres Equis, Rios Lodge, Parque Nacional Barbilla – SINAC, Adventure Playground, Fundación Andrea Jiménez, and our local neighbors for being champions for the environment.
A special note of gratitude goes to Grupo ICE, Costa Rica’s electrical company, for transporting our volunteers and to Forestry Engineer Mario Castillo Chavez with ICE’s reforestation program for donating 200 trees. ICE supports reforestation programs to restore areas within the Reventazon watershed’s biological corridors, which join the Pacuare River Basin.
